Historic Breeches Buoy Rescue! National Maritime Museum Cornwall

Saturday 24th May - Sunday 1st June, on the hour, 11.00am - 2.00pm.

Cornishman Henry Trengrouse saved hundreds of lives at sea with his amazing rocket-line and breeches buoy invention. Hear his fascinating story and take part in the 'rescue' of a puppet sailor across the water of our Tide Pool-starting with a water powered rocket! (lasts approx. 20 minutes)

Half-term activity trail

With the Fal River Festival coinciding with the National Trust's Hidden Nature week,what better way to celebrate than a trip on the river to the family's activity trail at Trelissick garden?

 

Follow a trail full of interesting facts and wildlife spotting to discover the other activities taking place. There will be face-painting,'Water-tower' craft sessions and even story telling-hear the unique tale of Trelissick's own 'Gilbert the Squirrel' and his adventures on the wrong riverbank.

Indoor and outdoor fun for all ages. Arrive by ferry for a great day out!

Explore Falmouth Lifeboat Station

An oportunity to get a real insight into the working of the RNLI and go onboard one of its £2 million Severn Class Lifeboats.
Volunteer Guides will show you around the lifeboat station which houses the Falmouth's Atlantic 75 Inshore Lifeboat before taking you down onto the pontoon.

The Tin Violin

RNLI Sponsored Maritime Walk

A gentle five mile walk around Falmouth starting on Pendennis Headland and finishing at Falmouth Lifeboat Station where refreshments will be served and the lifeboats will be open for viewing.

Fal River Walk


Sunday 1st June 2008, 10.30am

boat trips and a Cornish cream tea is the reward for the first 200 who sign up for the 14 mile Fal River walk. The walk is being organised by The Rotary Club of Truro Boscawen and aims to raise £20,000 for charity by asking each of the 200 walkers to try and raise £100 in sponsorship.

Venue: Starting at the park and float car park at Ponsharden
Price: £100 sponsorship , plus £10 all inclusive day pass for parking, ferries and a cream tea.

Minimum walker age is 14
